In academic writing, personal pronouns such as I or we should be used with care as the usage differs between research fields.
To avoid the use of a personal pronoun, other structures such as the passive voice are used (see Passive Voice).
In certain fields, it is possible to find an article abstract with the following structure using the personal pronoun ‘we’:

In Section I, we explain . . . . In Section II we describe . . . We present our results in Section III and discuss them in IV. We then
summarize how . . . in Section V with related works in VI. Finally, we conclude and propose future work in Section VII.

Passive construction:

In Section I, x,y,z is explained. This is followed by Section II in which x,y,z is described . . . Our results are presented in Section III . . .

It is often best to mix the usage of active and passive sentences. Please follow your department guidelines concerning the use of personal pronouns.
